Panama v Scotland Under-23s

Saturday, 12 November 2022 (6pm Kick-off UK Time)

Estadio Municipal de Chapín

Scotland under-23s will take on Panama in the first of two international double-headers this weekend.

The two sides will meet at Estadio Municipal de Chapín in Jerez, Spain.

Pedro Martinez Losa named a youthful 26-player squad for the hybrid camp which will see an under-23 side face Panama under-23s, whilst the senior team will face Venezuela on Monday, 14 November.

Brogan Hay received a first call-up, with youngsters Erin Clachers, Amy Muir, Rebecca McAllister and Leah Eddie all preparing to feature this weekend.

Speaking ahead of the first game, manager Pedro Martinez Losa said: "Panama are a team who have already qualified for the final World Cup play-off in February, so we expect a difficult game.

“Both sides will give younger players the opportunity to play. The under-23s format is a huge positive and a great chance to see what the players are capable of.

“Ultimately, we want to win matches, develop our players and get back to playing the kind of football that we want to play.”

Speaking about the winter training camp, he added: “It was always part of the plan to have these two games at the end of the camp to allow for a good week of training.

“It was always our intention to provide this opportunity to our younger players and to bring them into this environment at the appropriate moment.

“We have the knowledge and observations about these players but it’s about having the right moment – and that moment is now.”

Saturday’s match against Panama will be available to watch on the Scotland National Team Twitter, Facebook and YouTube channels, kick-off 6pm (UK).
