The Scottish FA Football Academy is a project designed to develop talented players not only on the pitch but also socially and academically.  Like many activities, the skills that apply to football such as communication, following instructions, being creative and problem solving can be applied to situations in a classroom, in the playground, at home or in the street.

For many young children, football is an activity that captures the imagination and brings happiness and joy to their life and so we use the sport to engage with them and help them learn in a way that other subjects and situations cannot.

The programme will also compliment and supplement their club football and will create a challenging developmental environment and will give them the best chance to fulfil their potential.

This programme in Edinburgh has many key partners to help the quality and education the selected players receive.  The partners include City of Edinburgh Council, the Scottish FA, Heart of Midlothian FC, Hibernian FC and Edinburgh's Telford College.

The boys are selected at Primary 7 and the closing date for applications is Thursday 17th February so please get your form in ASAP.

Please note that all successful players will school at Broughton HS regardless of which catchments they are in.

The 1st trial is provisionally booked for the 4th March, however all applicants will receive confirmation prior to the 1st trial.

If you need any more information then please do not hesitate to contact David Sheldon, Scottish FA Football Development Officer for the City of Edinburgh Council at any stage on 0131 334 6801 or 07767 463213.
