Tropical weather fails to dampen spirits!
The second league game of the season took place on Friday 4th February at Bathgate Sports Complex. Due to adverse weather conditions the fixtures were moved inside to the indoor football pitches.
The games got under way a little later than expected but it was certainly worth the wait. Donaldson’s School continued their run of excellent form by again winning all of their matches, proving to be a serious title contender this year! Cedar Bank also continued there good run of form with an impressive 3 wins and 1 draw! With only 5 points between first and second place everything is still to play for.
Greig Taylor assistant National Football Development Officer said “Friday’s games were very exciting, it was a bit of worry that the fixtures would not go ahead due to the weather, but full credit must go to Jim Grant and his team of coaches who managed to pull together and move the fixtures indoor. The teams adapted well to the 6-a-side format and played some exciting football. I believe each team is getting stronger and stronger every time I see them play. This is undoubtedly down to the hard work and commitment from teachers/volunteers who give up their valuable time to make this happen”.
The next league fixture will take place on Friday 25th March at Dalkeith Schools Campus.
