After a 4 week break from the last games day, the Schools were back looking as fresh as ever, eager to showcase their talents once again on the big stage. It is evident that the training equipment the schools received at the beginning of the league has been put into good practice.
Unfortunately only three teams were able to attend on Friday. It was disappointing to have so many call offs but Abercorn, Parkhill & St.Aidans certainly took full advantage of the extra games. This gave the teams on show the opportunity to gain some valuable points and bridge a gap between their nearest rivals who were unable to attend.
Abercorn and St.Aidans kicked off the first game, this was an extremely close encounter with the end result a goalless draw. The highest scoring of the day fell to Abercorn who managed to score a staggering 8 goals in one game.
Greig Taylor – Assistant National Development Officer – Disability said “ the league table is now really tight, you can see from the players faces the passion they have for the game, I am really looking forward to the finals day on the 19th May at Toryglen. With only 3 points dividing 1st and 2nd place, its shaping up to be an exciting finish”.
