After a long summer break it was time to get back to regional league business for schools at Toryglen Regional Football centre on Friday 17th September. This was the first meeting of the new season with Regional & Scottish Champions Abercorn ready to defend their trophy.

The highest scoring of the day and in the league so far fell to Abercorn who managed to score 6 goals in one game, with Morrow bagging a very convincing 4 goals.

Greig Taylor, Assistant National Development Officer said “It’s great to see Merkland, Mary Russell and Kilpatrick play in the league this year. This was their first experience of the league and they proved with some of their performances that they can have a positive impact on the league standings. They played with passion, pride and commitment and I look forward to seeing them play in the forth coming fixtures”.

The next schools league fixture will take place on Friday 12th November at Toryglen Regional Football Centre.
