The Scottish Gas Men's Scottish Cup Quarter-Final weekend got underway on Friday evening under the lights at the Falkirk Community Stadium as John McGlynn's Falkirk edged out Dundee United in the opening match.
In-form Barney Stewart headed in the opener after Brad Spencer's shot was saved and it was 2-0 before the break as Finn Yeats also scored with a headed effort, this time from Leon McCann cross.
Dundee United rallied and Julius Eskesen pulled a goal back before the break but - despite Zac Sapsford hitting the post and also forcing a brilliant stop from Falkirk stopper Scott Bain - the Bairns saw it out to seal a return to Barclays Hampden for the Semi-Final.
Falkirk's rivals Dunfermline Athletic were in action on Saturday night as they were the next team to book their place in the Semi-Finals as they put holders Aberdeen to the sword to seal their return to the last four for the first time since 2009.

Matty Todd's thunderous back post finish put Neil Lennon's side ahead and Olly Thomas' slightly fortunate attempt ricocheted in off Dons' goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov to double the Pars lead.
Aberdeen improved after the break but Chris Kane slid in Thomas who grabbed his second goal to put the game to bed, sending the sell-out crowd at KDM Group East End Park into raptures. while the disgruntled Aberdeen fans exited in their droves.

Rangers hosted rivals Celtic in Sunday's early match and the two sides could not be separated in 120 minutes, with Daizen Maeda and Emmanuel Fernandez both seeing goals disallowed, for offside and handball respectively.
James Tavernier hit the crossbar with Rangers' first spot-kick and Djeidi Gassama also missed in the shoot-out, allowing Tomas Cvancara to slot home the winning penalty to seal the shoot-out win.
There were some unsavoury scenes after the penalties, with supporters entering the field of play.
The Scottish FA issued the following statement on the events: "The Scottish FA condemns the behaviour from supporters entering the field of play following today's Scottish Gas Scottish Cup Quarter-Final at Ibrox Stadium. An investigation will be carried out immediately in line with the Judicial Panel Protocol."
