From dramatic late winners to statement performances by top-flight sides, it was another exciting weekend in the third round of the Scottish Gas Women’s Scottish Cup.

90 goals were scored across the 15 matches as SWPL 1 and 2 teams entered the fray, with Hearts v Spartans postponed. Celtic notched up the standout scoreline of the round, running out 14-0 winners against Dunfermline at New Douglas Park. Their clinical performance set the tone as they showed their ambition for this year’s competition.

Current holders Rangers also booked their place in the fourth round with confidence, securing a dominant 8-0 win over Renfrew. The defending champions showed their experience and quality to continue their title defence.

It was a closer affair for Kilmarnock against Gartcairn in tough conditions - a late winner from Geo McTear was the difference to ensure Jim Chapman’s side were into the last 16. Bonnyrigg Rose, Montrose and Stirling University also progressed after extra time in their respective fixtures.
