SFA South East Region Annual Coaching Conference 2009
Sunday 19th April 2009 – Almondvale Stadium, Livingston

* Full Schedule to appear here soon.

Following the previous two successful events, the SFA South East Region are delighted to announce that the annual Coaching Conference has been confirmed for Sunday 19th April 2009 at Almondvale Stadium, Livingston.

The Conference is aimed at coaches working throughout all levels of football and will include a variety of practical sessions as well as a discussion forum. We anticipate there will be a huge demand to attend this event and encourage interested coaches to book early.

As with previous years, the standard of guest coaches in attendance will be extremely high. Event organisers have already confirmed the services of Liverpool FC Academy Director, John Owens and Scottish youth coach guru, Chris Mccart of Celtic FC. A third guest will be confirmed in the near future but we can guarantee that they will be of a very high standard in keeping with the quality of our previous conferences.

Guest Coaches (to-date) Profiles:

John Owens
John is the Liverpool Football Club Academy Manager. John's career has taken him from nurturing the likes of Robbie Fowler and Steve McManaman, to a three-year spell as manager of England Under 15s before he enjoyed a period in charge of the England semi-pro side - all while looking after Liverpool's youngsters at Melwood on a part-time basis. He eventually took over Liverpool's under-19 side, where he helped to guide the club to back-to-back Youth cup triumphs, until the summer of 2007 when he became the Academy Manager. As well as working with Robbie Fowler and Steve McManaman, John has also played a major role in developing Michael Owen, Jamie Carragher and Steven Gerrard amongst others, into World Class players.

Chris McCart
Chris is the Manager of the Youth Academy at Celtic FC. Chris spent seven years as Head of Youth Development at Motherwell FC before joining Celtic in 2008. A former player with Motherwell and Falkirk, he is once of the most respected youth coaches in the UK and has been responsible for developing a number of Scotland’s current crop of young players.

The cost for the day will be £10 (£5 for SFA Quality Mark clubs) with tea/coffee on arrival and again mid afternoon along with lunch all fully inclusive. All attendees will also receive a free gift on the day.
