The Scottish FA East Region Soccer One Finals took place yesterday (25th May) at Dundee University Playing Fields, Dundee.

The finals were attended by eight boys and six girl’s teams and were played in a competitive and sporting manner. The Soccer One programme is the Scottish FA’s largest after-school football programme which offers free weekly football training and games to every S1 pupil in the country.

All training sessions are supervised by qualified Scottish FA coaches and provide pupils with an opportunity to play other schools from around the region in football festivals and matches that take place throughout the school year.

Run in partnership with the Scottish FA, the Scottish Government's CashBack for Communities scheme, Local Authorities and title sponsor Bank of Scotland, the programme aims to create new football teams in schools for boys and girls, regardless of ability.

Well done to all the pupils that represented their school and good luck to Woodmill High School Girls, Grove High School Girls and Boys and Webster’s High School Boys who progress to the National Finals at Toryglen on 14th June 2011.
