The South West Region hosted the fourth get together of the Coach Coordinators representing the Quality Mark Clubs at Rugby Park this week.
The group of key individuals working in the grass roots game helps the regional staff to shape the delivery of new initiatives across the region. This meeting had four main topics:
Ø The Scottish FA Football Skills Challenge
Ø Positive coaching Scotland
Ø The introduction to football for young players through an Age 8s In Service
Ø Club visit Programme
The dedicated volunteers travelled from far and wide to attend, discuss the topical issues and they will now return to their clubs and inform their own coaches about the developments discussed.
Ritchie Wilson, John Brown, Scott Guy and Alan Sloss represented the full time staff and Ritchie was delighted by the evening.
“The feedback we get from this group is vital for us to make sure that we continue to take grassroots football forward in the right direction. The group’s ideas have already been used to create new programmes that we are implementing and the different clubs share their best ideas to the benefit of everyone involved.
I would like to offer my thanks to the individuals involved who give of their own time to make sure that their clubs are well informed and innovative in the way that they provide football provision in their communities, well done folks!”
Clubs represented at this meeting were:

Caledonian FC
