Coaches from many different grassroots clubs, and a large contingent from Ayr United Soccer Academy, thoroughly enjoyed sharing some new training ideas
Guest coaches were Soccer eyeQ technical director Kevin McGreskin, and ex Ayr United captain, Kilmarnock manager, and current Scottish FA director of football development, Jim Fleeting.
Kevin McGreskin is an expert in visual perception and showed coaches how to challenge young players to “see” the game faster and improve decision making.
Jim Fleeting focused on the responsibilities of football coaches and introduced ideas on how to make football practice fun and game-realistic.
The Scottish FA South West Region would like to thank all those who attended and a special mention goes to hosts Ayr United and their Football Academy for use of the stadium and providing players for the demonstration group.
This event was one of three coach development days, the others taking place in Hamilton and Dumfries, that saw over 200 coaches coming along to improve their knowledge.
The next events of this type will be Coaching Clinics, which will take place on Friday evenings during September. Details will be published on this website.
