The Scottish FA is one of 23 Scottish Governing Bodies working in partnership with sportscotland to develop performance focussed coaches in the South East region through the 'East Coaching Talent Programme'.
Twelve football coaches have been nominated by the Scottish FA to be part of the programme and these coaches will receive support through targeted coach development workshops and the opportunity to develop a targeted coaching develop plan.
The programme launches in April 2012 with workshops in the first six months on Performance Planning, Performance Enhancement and Injury Prevention, Talent ID & Mindset, Sports Psychology; The Role of the Coach and Performance Analysis Training.
The workshops are delivered by experts from local Universities and High Performance coaches across a number of sports. Coaches will attend a series of workshops in each topic with the opportunity to implement what they have learnt and reflect on their successes in future workshops.
The sportscotland Regional Coaching and Volunteering Managers have been working closely with the sportscotland Institute of Sport Talent team to create an innovative approach to creating coach development plans and following the 'Talent ID & Mindset' workshop in May 2012 up to 20 coaches on the programme will be further supported to create a development plan and incorporate a growth mindset attitude within their coaching.
If there are any football coaches out there currently working in the South East region that would like to be part of this inaugural coach development programme, please contact the South East Regional Manager, David Drummond on 0131 667 8245.
