The Community Soccer Camps at St. Mirren FC are up and running and this year it was decided to run a camp exclusively for girls.
The camp over the course of last week was under the supervision of Community Coaches Stephanie Lawrie and Carolyn MacLean.
Stephanie said "The week has gone really well and the feedback we have had from the participants and the parents has been very positive.
"Young girls can sometimes feel uncomfortable and less able to express themselves if there are boys there and this environment has been really good for them.
She added, "It is hoped through time that we can develop our own girls' teams here at St Mirren and we are presently running courses for various age groups which will hopefully help us work towards developing this."
The Girls' courses at St. Mirren Park take place at the North Stand on Mondays from 4.30 pm to 5.30 pm (for primary school age girls) and Wednesdays from 5.00pm to 6.00pm (for secondary school age girls.)
