Active Stirling concluded their Scottish FA Street Football programme by holding a tournament in partnership with Stirling Youth Services last Saturday at Forthbank Stadium. The tournament brought to an end 4 weeks of Street Football activity in Cowie, Plean, Bannockburn and Fallin with 43 young people turning up on the day for the 7-a-side event.

The day was a huge success with teams from Cowie, Plean and Bannockburn turning out along with a team from a long running street football class at St. Ninians. Cowie ran out the eventual winners racking up 13 points from the 5 matches which they played.

There were plenty of other prizes up for grabs on the day as well with Cowie player Ricky Kerr winning a place on Active Stirling's Scottish FA October Holiday Football Camp for his effort and performances on the day.

In addition St. Ninians player Kevin Robertson won the nomination for player of the year from the Stirling area. This was due to Kevin's willingness to help create a mixed team at the tournament to make more games for everyone along with his good performances and skills in the games.

One player from each area also won a voucher for JJB sports which was kindly donated by Stirling Youth Services.

Andrew Todd, working on behalf of Active Stirling's Football Development Department was placed in charge of organising the event and commented, "I was very pleased with the way the day went, it was a great finish to the 4 weeks of street football in all the different areas across Stirling. 43 kids was a fantastic number to have at the tournament and they all played with great spirit, scored plenty of goals and put some good skills on show."
