South Lanarkshire Leisure ran its successful Street Football Tournament over the Summer Holidays. The eventual winners of the week-long tournament were Gow Sparks from Lesmahagow.
Throughout the week, South Lanarkshire Leisure held qualifying tournaments in different venues, such as East Kilbride, Hamilton, Cambuslang and Lesmahagow.
A number of teams competed throughout the week in a league format and the top two teams progressed to the finals day, which was held in the indoor arena at Hamilton Palace Sports Ground.
Gow Sparks fought a hard final match against Barcalanark. With Barcalanark taking the lead early on in the match, Gow Sparks hit back with an equaliser not long before time up.
With the score level, the game went to penalties. Just like the match, there was not much separating the two teams, with Gow Sparks winning 6-5.
South Lanarkshire Leisure would like to thank all the players who participated in the tournament and a special thanks has to go to the Healthy Valleys organisation who submitted a number of teams.
The next tournament will run in the October Holiday Week.
