Scotland Women’s National Team will head to the Netherlands on Tuesday in their final match of this year’s UEFA Women’s Nations League. Melissa Andreatta’s side lost out to Austria on Friday night with a narrow 1-0 defeat at Hampden Park, a result which saw Scotland relegated to League B.
Despite an encouraging second-half display, it was Austria that emerged with the win thanks to a front post flick from Julia Hickelsperger just after the hour mark. It’s been seven matches without a win for Scotland as they head into the final clash of the campaign against the Dutch.
Andries Jonker’s side, who are Euros bound in the summer, go into the game off the back of three wins, one draw and most recently a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Germany last week.
Team news
Amy Rodgers and Nicola Docherty are out of contention for the game in Tilburg. Charlotte Newsham joins the squad from the Under-23s.
Pre-match thoughts
Scotland Head Coach, Melissa Andreatta: “Looking forward to a good test against the Netherlands. We’ve gone back and looked at the areas that we need to work on from the game on Friday and we’ll look to start against the Netherlands with the momentum that we saw in the second half against Austria.
“I think I have a good baseline now to understand where we're at and some areas to work on to get where we want to be.
"I really believe in this group and what I want to see is a team that takes another step forward, that we're on the front foot at the right moments in the game.”
