"Fantastic", "brilliant", "well organised", "had a great time", "friendly staff" - just some of the comments made at this year's Falkirk Cup sponsored by the Clydesdale Bank.
The event was organised by Scottish FA quality mark club, Falkirk in the Community, and held at Little Kerse playing fields in Grangemouth from Friday 10th April – Monday 13th April.
The programme was split into two age groups with the Under 9 – Under 12 age groups attending on Friday 10th and Saturday 11th April. The teams played in a festival style format with no records kept of the scores. Every player was thanked for their efforts on the Saturday and presented with a medal.
The Under 13 - Under 16 age groups competed in the Falkirk Cup with the top two teams in each age group competing for the Falkirk Cup.
Tom Elliott, Head of Community Coaching at Falkirk FC said “It was a fantastic four days and the end result of many months of planning and organising. I would like to thank the volunteers who contributed to this year's event. Without their help we couldn’t achieve the level of success we have at grass roots level.
"Secondly, I would like to thank Clydesdale Bank for sponsoring the medals and trophies, Asda for supplying snacks and juice to all my coaches over the four days, and Finnforest who sponsored the fairplay awards.
"We had over 1000 players enjoying playing at the excellent facilities at Little Kerse, and we are all looking forward to making next years event bigger and better.“
