As part of the new Tesco Bank Football Challenge programme, Glasgow Sport recently hosted a festival at Sir Alex Ferguson Park, home of Harmony Row YC.
Primary two and three children from Hillington, Sandwood and St George's primaries, who have all been receiving coaching during school curriculum time, took part in the festival.
This meant that almost 200 children got the opportunity to show off their football skills and play matches against each other.
Thanks must go to the partners who helped support this event. Cardonald College for providing a number of budding coaches, Glasgow City Council Education services for helping the schools with their transportation costs and Harmony Row YC for allowing the use of their facility.
The Tesco Bank Football Challenge is a four-year community programme, run in partnership with the Scottish FA since August 2010.
The programme introduces football to Primary 2 and Primary 3 boys and girls (six to eight years old) and aims to get them engaged in a healthy and active lifestyle from a young age.
