Round two of the League Fixtures took place on Friday and the teams did not disappoint. With the games all so tight from the last round everything was still to play for.
Due to circumstances out of their control St. Joan of Arc couldn’t make the event so a team from Merkland School kindly took their place.
Fixtures kicked off at a frantic pace with 11 goals scored in the first 3 games. Each game was played at a high tempo with all teams trying to earn the valuable 3 points. All 6 teams gave it their all, even the friendly games against Merkland were played like a cup final.
Greig Taylor, Assistant National Football Development Officer – Disability said, “The football on show today was fantastic, every single player out there today gave it their all. Full credit to Merkland School for bringing along a team, even though their games were played as friendly’s, the tempo, effort and commitment was second to none”.
The top of the table is now extremely close with only 1 point separating league leaders Abercorn and second spot St. Aidans.
Well done to Darren Watt & Kyle Terry who managed to get their names on the score sheet for Merkland School.
Please note that all games played against Merkland School are friendly games only. Results and goal scorers will not be included in league standings.
