Pictued to the right with the the Kilmarnock under 19's squad is the Ayrshire Mild Learnig Dificulties squad. The Squad is made up from schools across Ayrshire and train regularly, on this occassion they were given the opportunity to join in the training session with the Kilmanock 19's.
A team was selected to represent the region in a national tournament at Toryglen. The team was made up from boys from Stanecastle and Park school, they got through the group stages winning all three games and then met a strong Aberdeenshire squad in the final and were very unlucky to get beat after some great performances both individually and as a team.
This was the first time that a squad from Ayrshire has made it to a national final so the boys should be proud of their achievements.
The squad will continue to train at Kilwinning Sports Club twice a month and enter other national tournaments throughout the year. The squad coaches and players would like to thank the teachers, schools, Scottish Disability Sport and the Scottish FA for their continued support.
