Tynecastle Stadium will host Friday-night football as Scotland take on FYR Macedonia in a crucial UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying match.

The home of Heart of Midlothian will welcome Ricky Sbragia’s side on Friday, 2nd September as they make a final push for a place at the finals in Poland next summer.

Scotland are currently fourth in Group 3 having a played a match less than joint-second placed Macedonia but can move to within a point of their qualification rivals with a win in Edinburgh.

A number of Hearts stars have featured for Scotland at under-21 level in recent years, including Callum Paterson, who made his senior debut against Italy in May, Jack Hamilton, Sam Nicholson, Billy King, John Souttar and Jordan McGhee, who is now on loan at Middlesbrough.

Scotland Under-21 coach, Ricky Sbragia, said: “I’m delighted we’ll be playing this important match at Tynecastle Stadium.

“Hearts have supplied us with a lot of players for the under-21 team over the duration of our qualifying campaign so it is fitting that we play our final home match at Tynecastle.

“The stadium lends itself to a great atmosphere and I hope that fans from around the country will come along and support the team in what is a pivotal match in our bid to reach the finals.”
