UEFA have confirmed that Scotland’s final 2017 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifying match against FYR Macedonia will now be played on Tuesday, 11th October, kick-off 5.45pm (UK time) at the Nacionalna Arena Filip II Makedonski.
The match was originally due to take place three days earlier but with FYR Macedonia, France and Iceland in contention for a place at next summer’s finals in Poland, Scotland’s fixture in Skopje has been moved back to ensure all team’s with a chance of qualification kick off at the same time.
Scotland’s hopes of qualifying for the 12-team tournament ended earlier this month following defeats to FYR Macedonia and Ukraine.
They have two matches left in Group 3 – a trip to Iceland on Wednesday, 5th October before travelling to FYR Macedonia the following week.
The matches will be Scot Gemmill’s first as Scotland Under-21 coach following his recent appointment.
