Scotland Under-21s suffered a 4-0 defeat in Kiev tonight to end all hope of qualification for next summer's European Championship Finals.

John Souttar also saw red in added time with the defeat leaving Scotland second-bottom of Group 3 with two matches remaining.

Despite a bright start, with Oliver McBurnie and John Souttar going close with headers in the first ten minutes, the hosts took the lead through Andriy Blyznychenko's 20-yard strike.

Artem Besedin doubled the advantage on 69 minutes and grabbed his second and Ukraine's third on 77 minutes.

Scotland had a claim for a penalty turned down before Ukraine piled on further misery through a 92nd minute penalty of their own, with Hearts defender Souttar seeing red.
