Larbert High School 2, Bishopbriggs Academy 1

Ochilview Stadium

Larbert High School and Bishopbriggs Academy met in the final of the Scottish Schools FA U13 Central Region Championship at Ochilview Stadium, and served up a tightly contested and entertaining game in perfect weather conditions.

Both sides had much to play for. Bishopbriggs were trying to follow in the footsteps of the school's U15 and senior team -both of whom won a National Shield this season - while Larbert were attempting to emulate last season's U15 regional winners.

James Finlay put Bishopbriggs ahead after 10 minutes, with the East Dunbartonshire team dominating the opening period.  However, Larbert responded well, and Ryan Gillespie scored the equaliser after bursting through the middle and placing his shot past the keeper.

There were chances at both ends in the second period, but Larbert were celebrating when centre Tommy Hall met an excellent Liam Blair cross to head the winner.

Both teams played extremely well with the game played in a great spirit to draw a close on this years championship.  Well done!
