Jason Cummings, Lawrence Shankland and Ryan Gauld were all on target for their clubs this weekend ahead of meeting up with Ricky Sbragia’s Scotland Under-21s.

Cummings netted just 4 minutes into Hibernian’s 3-0 win against Queen of the South with a neat low finish. John McGinn - who captained the Under 21s in their last game against Northern Ireland - also played 79 minutes of the game at Palmerston Park.

Elsewhere in the Scottish Championship, Lawrence Shankland scored his second goal for loan club St Mirren in their 1-1 draw with Alloa Athletic. The striker took advantage of a loose back pass to fire home.

Four of the Scotland under-21 squad featured in the Scottish Premiership game between Hearts and Kilmarnock at Tynecastle on Saturday. Hearts pair Sam Nicholson and Callum Paterson and Killie’s Craig Slater and Stuart Findlay all played the full 90 minutes in a 1-1 draw.

Over in Portugal, Ryan Gauld continued his fine run of form for Sporting Clube de Portugal’s B side with a goal in their 1-1 draw with Famalicao. His long range shot moves the club into third position in the Segunda Liga Table.

In England, Donald Love made his first appearance for Gary Caldwell’s Wigan Athletic after signing on loan from Manchester United last week.
