The Scottish FA's West Region hosted the first ever Regional Disability Squads games at Holyrood Sports Centre in Glasgow
The event was the first of its kind, with three different regions taking part. Along with the West Region, the Scottish FA South East and North regions also brought in teams to take part in games organised by Scottish Disability Sport and Scottish FA.
David McArdle; West Region Co-coordinator: “Disability Football is growing in the country with the National Cerebral Palsy team doing so well in the recent World Cup. Also with the Paralympics Commonwealth Games and Olympics coming to Glasgow in 2014 and London 2012 respectively it is a great time for disabled athletes.”
It was a fantastic day with everyone really enjoying the football due to the hard work of all those involved.
Now the West Regional Squad will look forward to the visit to the South East Region in March.
The West Region are also looking forward to moving to their new base at the new Toryglen Regional Football Centre and will have their first training day on the 6th of December.
