Over 100 Students form North Glasgow, Metropolitan, Nautical and Cardonald Colleges attended a coach education week as part of the West Region Volunteer College Football Programme.

The College Football Programme gives local students the chance to gain coaching qualifications in return for volunteering in local community programmes.

The programme is now in its fourth year and continues to grow with a record amount of students taking part this year.

During the week the students take part in the level one and two of the Scottish FA children’s coaching pathway.

Brian McLaughlin, Scottish FA player and coach development officer, said: "This is a fantastic programme which allows young students the opportunity to gain real coaching experience as well as coaching awards.

"The young students worked very hard during this project and we have all been impressed with their skills and ability to organise large events; their enthusiasm is fantastic."
