A Dundee girl recently enjoyed a week of work experience with the Scottish FA.

Heather Royal (14), a player at Dundee United SC Girls, joined  Sam Milne - Scottish FA club development officer for girls and women’s football in the east of the country - to experience a week of life working in the game.

Heather enjoyed supporting the promotion of the Scotland v Sweden game -  on Saturday 26th May -  as well taking part in the regional performance academy.

On top of this, Heather supported the Scottish FA East region at the launch of the Women in Sport Forum.

Sam said: “Heather did extremely well this week and I hope we have inspired her to continue in the game and to build a career in the game.

“Having her with us all week really helped our discussions on how to keep players her age in the game.

“She brought through some really interesting ideas which gives me some thought going forward.”

Heather said: “I really enjoyed the week and I got a great insight into how much work actually goes on to help us play football every  weekend.

“Also as a person I have realised importance of being positive on my peers on the impact it can have to keep people in the game.”
