Supporter Code of Conduct - Home Matches
We are confident Scotland fans are highly regarding in their enthusiasm, team support, hospitality, and sportsmanship. Our reputation as a national team fan base is globally renowned and we wish to uphold these standards for generations to come.
The Scottish FA are committed to creating a safe, secure, comfortable, and enjoyable matchday experience for all fans visiting the National Stadium. The Scottish FA are also deeply committed to fostering an inclusive environment, free of discrimination and harassment. This Supporter Code of Conduct addresses conduct that is inconsistent with these goals and detracts from the matchday experience.
The following conduct is prohibited in the Stadium and all parking, facilities and areas controlled by Scottish FA:
- Behaviour that is unruly, disruptive, threatening, or violent in nature, including verbal or physical harassment of match officials, players, staff, or fans.
- Conduct that is illegal.
- Conduct that results in damage to the venue or other personal property.
- Displaying signs, symbols, images, using language or making gestures that are threatening, abusive, or discriminatory, including based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, gender identity, ability, and/or sexual orientation.
- Displaying signs, symbols, or images for commercial purposes or for electioneering, campaigning, or advocating for or against any candidate, political party, legislative issue, or government action.
- Entering or attempting to enter the field, the field track, the tunnel, or any other location other than that permitted by the fan’s ticket or accreditation.
- Possession of an unauthorised pyrotechnic device, smoke or firework or other Prohibited Items*
- Throwing objects of any kind.
- Failing to follow requests from venue staff regarding stadium operations, policies, and emergency response procedures.
- Declining to promptly return a ball that enters the stands.
- Irresponsible use or consumption of alcohol, drugs or other substances.
- Any behaviour that otherwise targets other fans or interferes with other fans’ enjoyment of the game.
Any fan who violates any of these provisions may be subject to penalty, including, but not limited to, ejection without refund, loss of ticket privileges for future games and revocation of their membership and/or a Football Banning Order.
The Scottish FA reserve the right to refuse entry to anyone who has engaged in harassment of match officials, opposing team members, staff, or other fans or who have otherwise violated this Code of Conduct using social or digital media or other forms of communication.
Prohibited Items & Behaviour
All guests entering the stadium during an event can be subjected to a visual and/or physical inspection, and a bag inspection conducted by Stadium Security. We aim to provide an enjoyable, yet exciting environment for ALL fans attending games. To achieve that, the following are prohibited:
- Abusive, foul, or disruptive language or clothing.
- Alcohol and illegal drugs.
- All bags, including backpacks, and purses, that are larger than A4 paper.
- Animals (excluding certified service animals with proper documentation and confirmation from Stadium Management prior to the match).
- Any type of marketing/political material such as pamphlets, product samples, etc.
- Clothing containing wires, batteries, or other electronic components.
- Drums & Drumsticks.
- Explosives, pepper spray, tear gas, etc.
- Flags larger than 2m in height.
- Folding/beach chairs.
- Items containing adhesive i.e., Stickers, Decals, etc.
- Laptops & tablets.
- Loud noise-making devices such as air horns, plastic horns, vuvuzelas, whistles, megaphones, etc.
- Objects that can be thrown or viewed as projectiles.
- Professional camera equipment, tripods, GoPros, etc.
- Remote controlled aircraft or unmanned aircraft systems (drones).
- Selfie Sticks.
- Smoking of any kind including E-cigarettes & Vaporizers.
- Streamers, Confetti, Register tape, etc.
- Two-way radio devices.
- Umbrellas.
- Unmanned and Remote-Controlled Aircraft Systems.
- Water guns, toy/replica weapons, squirt bottles, etc.
- Weapons of any kind, fireworks, slingshots, smoke/stink bombs, laser pointers, etc.
- At the discretion of Stadium Management, any other item determined to be prohibited.
Any attempt to bring alcohol into the Stadium will be considered a violation of the Code of Conduct and may result in an ejection or refusal of entry, arrested, or tickets being revoked. All persons and/or their belongings are subject to search. Violators of the rules of any laws will be refused admission, asked to leave, or ejected from Stadium property. The Scottish FA cannot safeguard items which are not permitted to be brought into the stadium.
Please keep in mind that permitted or prohibited items may vary depending on the event. Stadium management will communicate any deviations from the standard house policy as necessary.
Reporting Unacceptable Conduct
Any person committing unacceptable conduct and or any person who assists another or others to commit unacceptable conduct, may be refused entry to, or removed from the stadium and banned from future matches under the jurisdiction of the Scottish FA.
If you witness any unacceptable conduct, please advise a Steward or Police Officer.

If you report an incident, please include a description of the incident taking place, your Stand, Section, Row and Seat Number.

Supporter Code of Conduct - Away Matches
Any supporter that travels to away matches are ambassadors for the national team and should always act and behave in a way that will continue to enhance the image of Scotland supporters and the national team.
Supporters must abide by the highest standards of behaviour and respect. Any supporter that acts upon any of the following may have their membership terminated and potentially a football banning order:
- Acts involving violence, intimidation, provocation, abuse, or anti-social behaviour.
- Use of language that is anti-social, abusive, racist, homophobic, or discriminatory, in any other way (this will include postings on any form of social, written, or electronic media,)
- Behaviour or language contrary to standards of decency and respect towards the people, cultures, laws, and property of host countries.
Attendance at Away Matches
A Member shall not wear clothing or display flags, banners, or any other representation that the Scottish FA considers to be inappropriate. This includes, but is not limited to, any political or discriminatory messaging.
A Member must always behave in a responsible manner when attending or travelling to and from a match. A Member should not act in any way that can be considered violent, indecent, insulting, abusive, discriminatory, or otherwise offensive. Any Member, acting alone or with others, whose conduct, or incitement of others, results in disciplinary action being taken against the Scottish FA by FIFA, UEFA or other authorities shall have their membership cancelled or suspended. In addition, if the Scottish FA suffers any loss or incurs any fines due to your actions, you agree to cover the Scottish FA for any loss suffered or fines incurred’. You shall also be responsible for the behaviour of a third party who attends a match using tickets purchased by you.
Any Member allocated tickets for away matches and tournament matches may be subject to security checks. The Scottish FA accepts no responsibility and will not be liable for any costs, incurred at any time, if a member does not satisfactorily complete a security check and as a result is refused an allocated match ticket.
