The project I’m working on as part of the Youth Ambassador programme is engaging more young people in supporting the national teams. The programme has given me some fantastic opportunities such as writing the match reports for the Scotland Men’s games and the Scottish Cup Final. I volunteer at Ayr United doing media stuff for the first team and Academy throughout the week and I’m also at college doing a HNC Events Management course.

Nick Irwin
Hi I’m Nick, I’m an ambassador from the West of Scotland and currently I am at the University of Stirling studying Journalism and Sports Studies in first year. As well as this, I am the manager for one of the University football teams and volunteer for Youth Football Scotland within their Media Team department. My life revolves around football so it was a no brainier to become a Youth Ambassador Of Change and I’m excited to continue my work within the world of football.

Paddy Hainey
Hi I'm Paddy, one of the 2021-23 Youth Ambassador's of change. In 2022 I graduated from the University of Edinburgh with a first class degree in Sports Business, and have since moved on to begin a Masters in Football Business whilst working in the commercial department at Falkirk FC. My project at the SFA centres around fan engagement strategies targeted towards supporters between 5 and 8 years old, in the hope that these children will grow up to become lifelong Scotland supporters.

Rebeka Campbell
Hi my name is Rebeka I joined the programme as being a football fan and being female I have noticed an opportunity for more acknowledgement in the women's game and want to spread more awareness. I also spend my time working in a private nursery as a early years practitioner and use my weekends to keep up with all things football.
Rhys Struthers
I am currently studying a BSc (Hons) in Sport and Exercise Science at Heriot-Watt University. Out with my studies and work, I have been a referee since 2016 and can be involved in matches up to, and including, cinch League One.
Within the Youth Ambassador programme, I view projects through a refereeing lens and allow this to shape my contributions to them. I am also fortunate to attend the EDIAB meetings as a Youth Ambassador representative.
In my spare time, I am an avid follower of the Scotland National Team and regularly travel to home and away matches.
