The Scottish FA School of Football at Cumnock Academy, East Ayrshire, is heading into a new season.
The Scottish FA and CashBack for Communities initiative, which was launched last year by Scotland National Coach George Burley and Justice Minister Kenny MacAskill, was a huge success with a number of S1 pupils combining football with their normal academic week.
The original S1 group now move into the second year of the programme, and are joined by new recruits from the Cumnock Learning Partnership, who are beginning their first year of secondary school.
All 32 players took part in a special summer camp recently at the school ahead of the start of the new term.
Cumnock Academy is one of six Scottish FA Schools of Football across the country.
The Schools of Football are about more than just playing ability, they aim to mold better citizens, as well as better footballers, through social and educational development.
Football is used as a tool to motivate the pupils, and their place on the School of Football programme depends on school attendance and academic improvement.
