International Challenge Match
Italy vs Scotland
Sunday 29th May 2016, 8.45pm kick-off (local time)
Ta’Qali Stadium, Malta

Gordon Strachan is looking forward to an "exciting" clash with Italy in Malta this evening.

Speaking to the local media at the Ta'Qali Stadium last night, the Scotland National Team coach said:"We have to play good sides, which is really exciting for the younger players and the more experienced ones in the group.

"We're looking forward to playing against some world class players. Rather than brave, these matches (against Italy and next Saturday against France) are exciting."

Gordon has called-up a number of younger players for the end-of-season double-header, and he admitted he will be taking a great interest in how they embrace the upcoming week.

"From my point of view, we need to see how comfortable they are within the squad" he said.

"They also need to be adaptable, as some of the boys come from systems which are different to the way we play.

"It'll be a real test, but they'll need to stand up and enjoy the game (tonight) and take something from it.

"That's the reason we're here."
