Helen Page has been appointed as the Scottish FA’s new Independent Non-Executive Director, replacing the outgoing Malcolm Kpedekpo.
Helen has amassed 30 years experience across the financial services, retail, charity, and food and drinks sectors, operating in a variety of senior roles including PLC Executive, Non-Executive Director, Chair, and senior brand and communications director.
She was a member of the UK Executive Board of RBS Group for seven years and CYBG/Virgin Money for almost 10, encompassing a number of functions including marketing, strategy, innovation, communications, product management, customer experience, and Environment, Social and Governance [ESG].
Malcolm will leave his INED position at the end of his term, next April, and Helen will join the Board in the interim as part of a handover process.
Helen joins Alison McGregor - the Non-Executive Chair of The Malcolm Group – as one of the Scottish FA’s two INEDs, with Alison joining in December 2023.
Helen Page: “I look forward to getting started in earnest and bringing my experience to the association at such an exciting time for the national game in Scotland. I am a passionate football fan and, indeed, was brought up with football as a fabric of our family’s everyday life.
“I look forward to bringing my perspective and experience to the board and supporting the CEO and senior team in the ongoing effort to celebrate the power of Scottish football at all levels, enabling success for our men’s and women’s national teams and reaffirming football’s importance to the health and wellbeing of the nation.
Mike Mulraney, Scottish FA President: “Helen was the standout candidate in a very impressive shortlist of INED candidates. Her breadth of experience in business, in the public and private sectors, as well as her charitable endeavours, will be of great benefit to the association and its board.
“She has already shown a keenness to get involved during the handover period by meeting with the senior team to get a better understanding of the workings of the Scottish FA operationally as well as strategically.
“I would also like to place on record my thanks to Malcolm for his service to the game over the past six years and wish him the best of luck in his new NED position with the newly created Women’s Professional Leagues Ltd in England.”
