To mark the return of Maths Week Scotland this week, the Scottish FA have introduced a number of fresh new maths and numeracy resources as part of the Learning Through Football programme.

Aimed at primary schools, the Scottish FA online platform aims to use the power of football to inspire, engage and enthuse young learners by providing teachers with learning suggestions linked to the curriculum, all through the topic of football.

Over the course of the summer, the Learning Through Football team have been working hard to get ready for the new academic year.

Each term will see exciting new learning opportunities released on the platform, supporting teaching and learning across the curriculum through the topic of football.

The first of these learning opportunities is in partnership with Maths Week Scotland.

Working together with Scottish Mathematical Council and Twinkl, the Scottish FA have introduced several new  Spotlights looking at the importance of maths and numeracy across the game, from the matchday experience to Hampden Park in numbers.

These resources will be available to use all year round.

In addition to the Maths Week Scotland content, the Learning Through Football team have also updated the Resources section to include useful and engaging information - including the key principles of The Daily Mile, a link to the Twinkl resources and My Amazing Brain.
