Scotland’s Futsal team will travel to Georgia next week for three matches in the preliminary round of the European Championships where they will face the hosts as well as experienced opposition in Switzerland and Israel.

The winner will then take part in the main round draw in April, playing in a group against Italy, Netherlands and hosts, Belarus.

Scotland have played eight games since being established in 2014 and were last in action in December where they finished third in the Home Nations International Tournament beating Northern Ireland 8-2 and losing out to Wales and England.

The 14-man squad led by head coach Mark Potter has a familiar feel to it with no debutants and Scott Chaplain swapping position from defender to attacker since the Home Nations tournament in Cardiff.

Futsal is a 5-a-side version of football with unlimited substitutions and 20 minutes a half.
