Scotland star James McArthur helped Crystal Palace to a shock 2-1 win over Premier League holders Chelsea at the weekend.
The former Hamilton Accies man has featured in all of Palace’s opening league matches this season, with Alan Pardew’s team occupying second place in the Premier League.
It was a weekend to remember for Shaun Maloney too as the midfielder set up a goal on his Hull City debut. Maloney - who signed from Chicago Fire during the week - assisted Curtis Davies' late header in the 2-0 win over Preston North End. Alan McGregor and Andrew Robertson also started for the Tigers.
Elsewhere in England, Darren Fletcher and James Morrison both played the full game in West Brom’s 1-0 win over Stoke while Bournemouth’s Matt Ritchie also played until the end during a 1-1 draw with Leicester City.
In the Championship David Marshall produced host of saves in Cardiff’s 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday and Gordon Greer played in Brighton’s 3-2 win over Ipswich. Chris Martin bagged a goal for Derby but couldn't stop them falling to a 2-1 defeat to Leeds
In Scotland, Leigh Griffiths and Charlie Mulgrew were both on target as Celtic went top of the Scottish Premiership table thanks to a 3-1 home win over St Johnstone. Griffiths powerful drive on 18 minutes drew things level with Mulgrew adding to the scoreline late on.
