A closer look...
Aberdeen v Montrose
The Dons go into this weekend’s fixture off the back of a 3-nil defeat to Rangers in the league - they booked their place in the fourth round with a comprehensive 4-0 win away to Falkirk.
Opponents Montrose will be buoyed by their impressive league form which included a 2-1 victory over Aberdeen in November.
Dundee United v Bonnyrigg Rose
SWF Championship side Bonnyrigg Rose make the trip to Dundee to face United who are locked in a top-six battle in SWPL 2 with fellow fourth round competitors Boroughmuir Thistle and Queens Park.
Bonnyrigg Rose progressed thanks to a thrilling 8-3 victory in extra time over East Fife whilst Dundee United dispatched of Rossvale with a 4-0 win.
Hibernian v Celtic
Another top-flight clash will see Celtic travel to Edinburgh to face Hibernian. The two sides recently met in December with Celtic emerging victorious at Meadowbank thanks to a 2-1 win. Six points separate the two sides in the league and both will be looking to ensure they reach the latter stages of the competition.
Glasgow City are the only team that have lifted the Women’s Scottish Cup more than Hibs, however Joelle Murray’s side haven’t reached the final since 2019 whilst Celtic have enjoyed more recent success after securing the silverware in back-to-back seasons 2021-22 and 2022-23.
In other fixtures…
Gary Holt’s Partick Thistle will host Boroughmuir Thistle who are sitting second in SWPL 2 behind Kilmarnock who haven’t lost a league game all season. The Ayrshire side, who are two-times Women’s Scottish Cup winners, will travel to holders Rangers.
Last year’s finalists Glasgow City host Queens Park and Stenhousemuir travel to Armadale Thistle.
Heart of Midlothian's match against Stirling University has been postponed due to pitch conditions. The fixture will now be played on Wednesday, 14 January, 7.45pm KO.
