It was a competitive weekend for the teams in the first-round proper vying for a spot in the next stage of the competition.

Eleven teams secured their place with one postponement - the match between Hutchison Vale and Buckie Thistle succumbed to the weather with Storm Amy affecting some of the weekend’s action.

The newest team to compete in the Scottish Gas Women’s Scottish Cup continue to impress as Thornton Hibs progress to Round Two after securing 2-1 win over SWFL League One side, Dunipace.

Dunfermline emerged victorious in a closely contested Fife derby against Glenrothes Strollers. The Strollers took an early lead in the match at Overstenton, but Dunfermline levelled just after half-time. Rachel Fowler put the hosts ahead again from the spot, but the Pars made it 2-2 with 20 minutes to go and with seconds left in the match, netted again to secure progress to the second round.

The eleven winners from the weekend will be joined by twelve SWF Championship sides in the Round Two draw. The postponed match between Hutchison Vale and Buckie Ladies will be rescheduled.

The draw for the second round of the competition will be made at Hampden Park on Monday, 6 October from 6pm live on the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup YouTube channel with host Eilidh Barbour and Glasgow City forward, Abi Harrison.
