It was a thrilling, goal-packed weekend in the second round of the Scottish Gas Women’s Scottish Cup, with an impressive 79 goals scored across 12 ties.
Each winning side secured their place in the Round Three draw, where they will be joined by all twenty SWPL 1 and 2 clubs.
Dunfermline, Renfrew and Ayr dominate
Dunfermline Athletic continued their strong cup campaign with a composed 3–0 victory over Thornton Hibs. Fresh off their dramatic 3–2 win against Glenrothes Strollers in the previous round, the Pars showed their quality once again to secure safe passage to Round Three.
One of the standout fixtures took place at New Western Park, where spectators were treated to a dramatic 8–4 win for Renfrew Ladies over Westdyke Ladies. Renfrew stormed into a 5–0 half-time lead, and although Westdyke responded after the break, the home side maintained control to seal their place in the draw.
Ayr United also impressed with a commanding 7–1 victory against Glasgow Women. From the first whistle, Ayr were in full control, producing one of the most clinical performances of the round.
Round Three Draw
The third-round draw will take place at Hampden Park on Monday, 3 November at 7pm, on the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup YouTube channel. Hosting the draw will be Gordon Duncan, alongside Scotland Women's National Team Head Coach, Melissa Andreatta.
