The SWF East Region League Cup finals took place last night (23rd June) at Dundee University Playing Fields, Dundee.

The night kicked off with eight U11 teams from throughout the region enjoying the good weather and showing off their skills in a fun festival.

This was followed by the U13 League Cup final between Dundee United Sports Club A and Dunfermline Athletic Girls Football Club. The U13 final was a great showcase of skill and talent from all the girls involved and was won by Dundee United Sports Club A.

The U15 League Cup final was keenly contested between Celtic Tayside Girls FC and Real Farmington FC with Real Farmington taking the spoils with a narrow victory over their opponents.

Sam Milne, Scottish FA Girls and Womens Football Development Officer, presented the trophies and medals to all the finalists and was delighted with the number of spectators who turned out to cheer on their teams. "With nearly 180 kids involved and 300 parents present it was a great night for everyone involved in girls football within the east region. It was a delight to see so many young girls enjoying their football and congratulations to all the teams that made it to their respective finals"

The girls season now takes a six week break for the summer with the second half of the season re-starting on the 7th August.
