UEFA European Under-21 Championship Qualifier
SCOTLAND v Ukraine
Friday, 13th November 2015, kick-off 5.45pm
St Mirren Park, Paisley
Scotland Under-21s take on Ukraine next Friday in a crucial Euro Qualifier at St Mirren Park.
Tickets are priced at just £5 for adults and £2 for kids with a fantastic deal for Youth Groups too (5 adult and 20 kids tickets for £30).
Here are five reasons to head along and give Scotland your support…
Gordon eyes the future
With our National Team Coach forming part of Ricky Sbragia’s backroom staff, there’s extra motivation for the squad to put on a show. Gordon has proven he’s not afraid to give youth a chance with Johnny Russell, Andrew Robertson and Stuart Armstrong all making the transition from under-21 to senior squad during his tenure. Could the Ukraine game unearth another gem for Gordon ahead of next year’s World Cup 2018 qualifying campaign?
Hometown Glory
There’s plenty of interest for local fans with St Mirren pair Stephen Mallan and Lawrence Shankland both included in Ricky’s squad. St Mirren Academy graduate John McGinn is likely to captain the team too, no doubt eager to impress at his old Paisley stomping ground.
It’s all to play for…
A defeat and a draw in the last two qualifier matches against France and Iceland leaves Scotland’s group finely balanced. With four points from the opening three games, a win for Scotland would reaffirm the team’s credentials for the finals in Poland in 2017.
Robbo’s return
Andrew Robertson recently told the Scottish FA he was ‘priviliged’ to accept a call-up to the under-21 squad. With no A squad fixture the full-back will be using all his experience to fire Scotland U21s to a win over Ukraine. Robertson scored his first goal for Hull City recently and will be in the mood to bag another next Friday.
International double-header: Part 1
Victory for Scotland U21s would form the perfect prelude to Scotland Women’s Euro Qualifier against FYR Macedonia, which will also take place in Paisley on Sunday 29 November. What’s more, those who attend next Friday’s game will receive a free ticket to Scotland Women vs. FYR Macedonia!
