The UEFA Executive Committee today confirmed that the Women's EURO 2021 has been rescheduled for July 2022.

The 16-team tournament, held in England, will now take place between 6 July and 31 July 2022, with the same venues planned to host matches.

SWNT Head Coach Shelley Kerr, reflecting on the move to push the event back one year, believes there are positives.

The national team manager said: “The football shutdown has presented so many challenges for the sport at all levels, but putting health and safety first is the most important thing at this moment in time."

“To have clarity on EURO 2021 is crucial for everyone involved in the Women’s game. There are plenty of positives to focus on, with the summer of 2022 presenting the tournament with a platform of its own, which I think is hugely beneficial for Women’s football.

“We have made a strong start to qualification and look forward to working hard to ensure that, when football finally returns, we will be targeting our place at the tournament in 2022.”
