National youth teams coach Scot Gemmill has named a 22-player Scotland Under-17 squad for two friendly fixtures against Japan in Spain later this month.
Scotland will take on their Japanese counterparts on Friday, 24 February before the sides meet again two days later.
The matches will offer Scotland the chance to finalise preparations ahead of hosting next month’s UEFA European Under-17 Championship Elite Round group.
Cappielow Park, St Mirren Park and the Dumbarton Football Stadium will host their Elite Round fixtures between 17-22 March as Scotland bid to qualify for their fourth successive finals with FREE entry for all.
The group is one of eight mini-tournaments being played around Europe with the winners qualifying for this year’s finals in Croatia.
The seven best runners-up will also progress to the final tournament which takes place in Croatia in May.
