Following the measures taken by the Scottish and UK Governments to ask people to stay indoors as much as possible, we’re aware of the strain this will have on the physical and mental wellbeing of individuals across the nation. With input from our Child Wellbeing team and signposting from NHS psychology staff, we have collated a resource for QM clubs with ideas of how you could support your football family through this tough time.
We hope the attached Club Support for Wellbeing PDF will be a useful resource for all club officials to firstly look after your own wellbeing and then give some tips and ideas of how your club can support the wellbeing of its members and wider community.
There is also an editable PowerPoint document attached that you can add your own club logo and colours to, as well as any details of the steps or activities that your club is planning in order to support the wellbeing of your members and community. You may wish to adapt, make your own or share with your club members. Even if you are not in a position to add activities, simply just sharing the ideas or giving tips for wellbeing and links to useful sources will help spread the important message about looking after ourselves and staying positive.
In addition, our partners sportscotland and the Scottish Institute of Sport have created this guide to looking after your wellbeing and this document also contains helpful contact details for a number of key national agencies.
We know that this will be an extremely stressful and potentially busy time for many and the last thing we would want to do is add to that, so we fully appreciate many of you will not be in a position to offer any additional activity.
#StayHomeSaveLives
A huge thank you to the clubs and individuals that have joined us in sharing the above vital message via social media. Football is a huge influence on so many lives and if we all echo the government’s advice of how important it is for us ALL to contribute to slowing the spread of the virus and stay at home as much as possible, we stand a much better chance of helping our NHS.
If you have not already done so, sharing the message would be greatly appreciated. For reference, our original tweet is here, but even better if you adapt and make your own.
The sooner we all stay at home the sooner we can get back to the football. Please do the right thing. #StayHomeSaveLives pic.twitter.com/UiGmUh8xEF

Staying in Touch
Consider the platforms being used for communication internally and externally at your club. Do you have the ability to direct message every member (parent) at the click of a button? Do you have an email address for every member? If not is this something you can consider putting in place? If you do have the ability to communicate efficiently with all members, why and what would you say?
