The draw for the First Round of the Scottish Gas Women's Scottish Cup took place on Monday evening, with Scotland international Fiona Brown conducting the draw.

The versatile player, who has 61 caps for Scotland, is currently recovering from an injury sustained playing for Glasgow City. It was during her first spell with Glasgow City that Brown got her hands on the Scottish Cup in 2014.

She joined host Eilidh Barbour to conduct the draw that would decide the 12 Round One ties. This round saw the 10 SWF League One clubs join the victors from Sunday's Preliminary Round. Bishopton's match with Huntly and Muireston United's game against Alloa Athletic were both abandoned due to injuries, so all four sides entered the draw ahead of their re-arranged fixtures.

The ties will be played on Sunday, 6 October.

Speaking at the draw, Brown said: "The Scottish Cup is the one you want to win with its bragging rights and it being the last game of the year. The trophy is slightly bigger now than when I won it, I don't think I'd have been able to lift this one!

"You get to play here at Hampden in this competition so it's a special day.

"At Glasgow City we're not shy in saying that we're not happy that we didn't bring any silverware home. It's not what the club is about.

"We're very much looking forward to trying to get our hands on some silverware again, whatever that may be."

The Scotland star also gave us on update on her recovery from the latest in what has been a series of cruel injuries that have struck her throughout her playing career.

She added: "Unfortunately I had to get two surgeries so the second one took place four weeks ago but everything's looking good now.

"The surgeon is happy and the physio is happy so I'm back on my feet now away from the crutches.

"I'm feeling good. It'll still be into next year before I'm looking at the pitch, so there's not really a timescale yet, but so far everything's going well."
