Scottish FA Youth Cup Final
Heart of Midlothian v Motherwell
Wednesday, 27 April 2016, kick-off 7.30pm
Hampden Park, Glasgow
Heart of Midlothian will face Motherwell in the Scottish FA Youth Cup Final at Hampden Park on Wednesday 27th April.
The match is a 7:30pm kick-off, with a cash gate in operation. Entry will be £5 for adults and £2 for concessions.
Jon Daly, Heart of Midlothian Under-20 Coach
“Hampden Park is a place that if you have a long career you may only get the odd chance to come and play here. I was fortunate enough to come and play in a couple of cup finals, it’s not something every player gets to do.
“We’ll have a fairly strong squad for the match. Most of the boys who are in the first team have played for the Under-20s for most of the season. Robbie Neilson has been in this position before, and he understands that the players want to play and finish the job tomorrow night.
“It’s a big occasion for the team and one we’re extremely looking forward to.
"Hopefully we can get a positive result.”
Stephen Craigan, Motherwell Under-20s Manager:
"When you’re a young footballer it’s all about these occasions. It certainly was the case for me growing up in Northern Ireland when I got to play at Windsor Park, so for the Scottish boys in the squad this will be a big occasion.
"They’ve earned the right to play here. We entered the competition from the first round, and we’ve faced four Premiership teams in our five matches.
“We could potentially have five players in our squad who were involved with the first team on Saturday. We’ll be looking for these experienced players to lead the way, but at the same time we’ll have a few 16 year-olds too.
"It’s all about that balance and blend, and making sure that they equip themselves. If we do what we’ve done in training and on most Tuesdays in the league tomorrow, we’ll be fine.
