As It Happened
Celtic who broke the deadlock in the game a few minutes before half time. Daizen Maeda picked up a loose ball within the box before dispatching a cross into the centre of the six-yard box which was met by the head of Jota, gave his side the advantage going into half time.

Just after the break, both goalkeepers were called into action to make crucial saves. Allan McGregor had to make a save to deny a Kyogo Furuhashi effort from just inside the box, before Joe Hart was called into action at the other end of the pitch a few minutes later to make a low fingertip save and deny Scott Arfield a goal.
Rangers were inches away from getting an equaliser in the 64th minute. James Tavernier’s effort from distance was denied by the left hand post before Fashion Sakala’s attempt at the rebound went into the side netting. Tavernier came close to equalising again in the 70th minute when his header down at the back post bounced up and over the crossbar.
After withstanding second-half pressure, Jota’s first-half header was enough to see Celtic through to the Scottish Cup Final, where they will take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle on Saturday, 3 June.
