The Dunblane and McLaren Cluster welcomed Scottish internationalist Rachel Corsie to their Girls Football Festival held at Dunblane High School last Thursday.
The Seattle Reign star, who is currently on loan at Glasgow City, kindly took time to chat to the girls and parents and share her knowledge and passion for the game.
After the round robin games the girls had the opportunity to ask Rachel some questions to find out a little more about her and her professional footballing career.
Rachel also explained her path into football, including how her love for the sport hadn’t developed until the age of 11 and while in school she participated in a range of sports from Netball to Badminton.
The girls were also extremely excited to see the Scotland midfielder since many had attended Scotland’s 7-0 win over Belarus the previous Friday, a game in which Corsie scored in the 53rd minute.
Riverside Girls Coach Beverly Francis also came along to promote the club and encourage the girls to continue playing football. Beverly also took the time to explain the opportunities available for young girls and how parents can support the club.
The Active Schools Team would like to take the opportunity to thank the Rachel Corsie, Kerry Kennedy from the Scottish FA, Dunblane High School Sports Ambassadors, Beverly Francis from Riverside Girls FC and the all the parents and pupils for their attendance on the day!
