Portugal v Scotland
UEFA Under-21 Championship Qualifying
Monday 31 March 2026 (7:30pm kick-off, UK time)
Estådio António Coimbra da Mota, Estoril

Scot Gemmill, Scotland Men's Under-21 Head Coach has selected a squad of 23 as they face their latest round of UEFA Under-21 European Championship qualifying fixtures next month.

Scotland once again play at Dens Park, Dundee on Friday 27 March as they host Czechia before facing group leaders Portugal at the Estådio António Coimbra da Mota in Estoril. Tickets for the match in Dundee match can be purchased [here], while Scotland Supporters Club (SSC) members go free.

Scotland’s last visit to the City of Discovery saw them leave as record breakers, as they defeated visitors Gibraltar 12-0 to set a new high-scoring record at U-21 level for the national side.

The last Under-21 camp in November saw Scotland secure back-to-back wins against Gibraltar on the Rock, before a big 1-0 win at Fir Park against a talented Bulgaria side on a bitterly cold evening.

Scot Gemmill has called upon a number of consistent performers from the campaign already, as well as some who impressed in the last games against Gibraltar and Bulgaria.

Mitchell Frame has secured a spot in the Under-21 squad for the first time, having secured a regular spot in Aberdeen’s defence this season, joining team-mate Dylan Lobban in the group.

One stand-out name in the squad for the first time is Manchester United’s Tyler Fletcher. Son of former Scotland Captain Darren Fletcher, Tyler has already gained caps at the Under-16, Under-17 and Under-19 levels for Scotland. Tyler made his Manchester United debut earlier this year as a late substitute at Old Trafford against Spurs.

One player who’ll be looking to make his mark in the upcoming games is Falkirk forward Barney Stewart. Having joined up with the squad for the last camp while on loan at Dunfermline Athletic, the front man has really made his mark on the SPFL Premiership since returning to Falkirk in January, netting 8 times.
