The Scottish FA can confirm that ten additional clubs have now been formally approved for Scottish FA membership, ahead of the governing body's Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday 28, May 2026 at Barclays Hampden.
The following clubs will see their membership become effective immediately following the meeting:
- Beith Juniors (West of Scotland Football League Premier Division)
- Broughty Athletic (Midlands Football League Premier Division)
- Drumchapel United (West of Scotland Football League Premier Division)
- Invergordon (North Caledonian Football League)
- Johnstone Burgh (West of Scotland Football League Premier Division)
- Kirkintilloch Rob Roy (West of Scotland Football League First Division)
- Largs Thistle (West of Scotland Football League Premier Division)
- Renfrew (West of Scotland Football League Premier Division)
- Troon (West of Scotland Football League Premier Division)
- Whitletts Victoria (West of Scotland Football League First Division)
The clubs will all enter membership at the entry-level tier, meaning they are eligible to compete in the Scottish Gas Scottish Cup. This will be granted at the next Licensing Committee meeting on Wednesday, 3 June.
In an email sent to the clubs, the Scottish FA confirmed that the Licensing Committee had verified that all had met the required criteria under the Club Licensing Procedures, as well as wider membership requirements.
The developments come ahead of a major restructure of the Scottish football pyramid at tier five. From next season, the Lowland League will be replaced by a Lowland League East and a Lowland League West, both operating alongside the Highland League.
